Thailand Donation

Many years ago I had the extraordinary opportunity to go to India for several months. It was truly a life altering experience-the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the country were unbelievably rich, and the wonderful people that I met in my travels were undeniably among the finest I have encountered in my life. I respect everyone that has a desire to broaden their viewpoint and enrich their lives through interaction with people from many nations, be it neighbors within their community or by travelling across the world to share daily life on different soil.

I am donating the above piece to a group of teacher candidates currently in the Faculty of Education that are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to finish their studies overseas at Lertlah School in Bangkok, Thailand. In Thailand, they will have the exciting opportunity of working as full-time classroom teachers for an entire school year while still attending regular university classes. At the same time, they will gain valuable experience teaching English as an Additional Language and learning to adapt their teaching as they work with different cultures, both skills that are greatly in demand in Manitoba. In preparation, the group has organized a fundraising social at Blush Ultraclub on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 9pm-2am. Also, I am a sucker for cute packaging!
